Teaberry Tax, established in 2026 and based in Maryville, Tennessee, serves individuals and small businesses across Maryville and the greater Knoxville area with an emphasis on accessible online tax preparation. Rooted in local community values, the business combines a detail-oriented approach with a user-friendly digital platform designed to simplify the tax filing process. With most clients served remotely, Teaberry Tax offers a secure online app that ensures convenience and protection of sensitive information throughout every step of tax preparation. This digital approach reduces the need for in-person visits, allowing clients to upload documents, communicate directly with their tax preparer, and approve returns from the comfort of their own homes. The following guide outlines the straightforward process of filing your taxes using Teaberry Tax's secure app, providing clarity and confidence in navigating your tax responsibilities in a modern, efficient way.

Getting Started: Creating Your Account And Preparing Your Documents

The Teaberry Tax app is built so new and returning clients move from sign-up to secure document upload with minimal friction. The process stays the same whether you are filing as an individual or for a small business.

Create Or Access Your Secure Account

First, open the Teaberry Tax app and choose whether you are a new or returning user.

New users: Enter your name, email, and a strong password. Use a unique password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
Returning users: Log in with your existing credentials rather than creating a second profile, so prior-year information stays linked to your account.

After entering your details, follow any verification prompts, such as confirming your email. These checks protect access to your tax records and support secure e-filing. Once verified, your encrypted account space is ready for document upload and messaging.

Gather The Right Tax Documents

Before you start uploading, collect the records that drive your return. A short list prevents missed income or deductions later.

Income forms: W-2s from employers, 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC for freelance or contract work, 1099-INT and 1099-DIV for interest and dividends, and 1099-R for retirement distributions.
Expense records: Receipts for deductible items such as medical expenses, charitable contributions, childcare payments, and education costs.
Small business records: Income summaries, invoices, bank statements, mileage logs, and organized records of business expenses.
Family and life changes: Social Security numbers for dependents, records of estimated tax payments, and documents for major changes such as marriage, divorce, or home purchase.

Organize For A Smoother Upload

Sort digital files into clearly named folders, or group paper documents by type before scanning or photographing them. Use readable file names such as "2026-W2-EmployerName" or "2026-Business-Expenses-Q1" so both you and our preparers can locate items quickly.

Once documents are organized and on hand, the next step is simple: use the app's secure upload feature to send everything into your encrypted Teaberry Tax workspace, where the remote tax filing process continues without needing an office visit.

Uploading Your Tax Documents Securely Through The App

Once documents are organized, the secure upload tool inside the Teaberry Tax app does the rest without extra steps or confusion.

Step-By-Step: Using Secure Document Upload

After logging in, open your current tax year workspace and look for the Upload Documents or similar button. This appears in the main dashboard so you do not need to dig through menus.

Choose document type: Select a category such as W-2, 1099, business expenses, or other records. Categories keep your files grouped for faster preparation.
Select files from your device: Tap to browse your phone, tablet, or computer. Pick one or several files at once if they belong under the same category.
Review and confirm: The app shows file names and sizes before upload. Remove anything added by mistake, then confirm to start transfer.

The upload window displays progress so you know when each file finishes. Once complete, the file list updates inside your encrypted workspace, ready for our review.

Accepted File Types And Multi-Page Documents

The app is built to accept common formats such as clear photos (JPEG, PNG) and standard documents (PDF). When you scan or photograph paperwork, keep pages flat, text in focus, and all corners visible.

Multi-page forms: For items like long 1099s or loan statements, combine pages into a single PDF when possible. If that is not available, upload each page in order and use file names or notes to label them.
Multiple documents: Upload several files for the same category, such as multiple W-2s or several receipts, by repeating the same few taps. The app keeps them grouped under one heading.

How The App Protects Your Information

Behind the simple interface, every file moves through encrypted connections. That means your W-2s, Social Security details, and bank records travel in a protected format rather than plain text. Once stored, the documents sit inside secure account space that requires your login credentials and our preparer access.

We use access controls so only those working on the return see the files. The app records uploads by timestamp and account, which helps us confirm we are working with the correct, final documents and supports a cleaner audit trail.

This secure document upload replaces the need to hand papers across a desk or send sensitive forms through regular mail. For clients in Maryville and the greater Knoxville area, it keeps remote tax preparation practical: we receive clear, organized records, and you keep original paperwork safely at home while the return moves forward online.

Filing Your Taxes Remotely: Step-By-Step Tax Preparation And E-Filing

Once documents sit in the encrypted workspace, the remote tax filing process shifts from upload to careful review. We start by scanning for missing forms, duplicate uploads, and file types that do not match the categories you chose. If something looks unclear, we flag it before any numbers go into tax software.

Initial Review And Question Checklist

We group your income, deductions, credits, and small business records, then compare them to a basic checklist for that filing year. This helps us notice items such as a W-2 without matching withholding pages or a 1099-NEC with no related expense records.

At this stage we often send short questions through the app, for example to confirm whether a payment was personal or business, or whether a dependent lived with you all year. Clear answers here reduce the risk of IRS notices later.

Messaging And Clarifications Inside The App

All clarifications stay inside the secure message thread linked to your account. When we need more detail, you receive a notification and can reply from a phone or computer. You may attach extra documents directly to the message so they land in the correct part of the file set.

To keep messages efficient:

Answer questions in the same thread so context stays intact.
Label new uploads in a short note, such as "additional childcare receipt" or "updated 1099-R".
Correct earlier information instead of letting two different answers stand side by side.

Draft Return Preparation And Accuracy Checks

Once records and clarifications line up, we prepare a draft return. Figures from W-2s, 1099s, and business summaries flow into the tax software; deductions and credits follow the supporting receipts you provided. Before sharing the draft, we run internal checks to spot mismatched Social Security numbers, unusually high or low income entries, and missing schedules for listed businesses.

The finished draft appears in the app as a set of readable summaries. You see key numbers such as refund or balance due, along with federal and state sections.

Reviewing Your Draft Return

You review the draft at your own pace. Focus on names, addresses, Social Security numbers, filing status, and bank details for direct deposit. Those areas trigger common mistakes, so slow, careful reading matters more than tax knowledge.

For small businesses, confirm that gross income, major expense categories, and mileage totals match your internal records. If you notice any difference, send a message inside the app rather than editing documents on your own; that keeps the audit trail clean.

Electronic Signatures And Final Approval

When everything looks correct, the app guides you through the electronic signature step. Required IRS authorization forms display on screen with a short explanation of what you are approving. You verify identity information, apply your e-signature, and confirm the date. For joint returns, each spouse receives separate prompts so signatures remain distinct and traceable.

After signatures post successfully, we complete final pre-filing checks. The app then marks the return as ready for e-filing and displays a confirmation screen for your records.

Submitting Through E-Filing Support

With your approval logged, we transmit the return electronically through our e-filing support system. Status updates appear inside the app, from "sent" to either "accepted" or "rejected." If a rejection occurs due to an issue such as a name and Social Security number mismatch, we correct the entry and resubmit after confirming details with you.

Retain the electronic copies and confirmation notices stored inside the app. They give you a clear record for future years and simplify responses if the IRS or a state agency requests information later. For residents who prefer remote tax consultations over office visits, this full cycle-from upload to accepted e-file-keeps compliance organized, documented, and easier to repeat each tax season.

Additional Features: Remote Consultations And Year-Round Support

Once a return moves from draft to accepted e-file status, the Teaberry Tax app does not go quiet. The same secure space that handled uploads and e-signatures also supports remote consultations and follow-up questions that surface after filing season ends.

Scheduling Remote Tax Consultations

Inside the app, clients request a virtual meeting by sending a short message describing the topic: a notice from a tax agency, a change in income, or plans to start a side business. We reply with available times and format details, whether video or phone, so both sides come prepared.

Before the appointment, relevant documents sit ready inside the encrypted workspace. During the consultation, we walk through the numbers on screen, explain options in plain terms, and note any additional records needed. Afterward, follow-up summaries or requested forms stay stored in the same account, rather than scattered across emails.

Year-Round Support For Changing Circumstances

Tax rules touch events that do not respect filing deadlines: job changes, estimated payments, new dependents, or early planning for the next year. Through secure messaging and scheduled check-ins, we address these items when they occur instead of waiting until the next spring.

For small business owners in Maryville and the greater Knoxville area, year-round access matters even more. Questions about quarterly estimates, deductible equipment, or mileage tracking reach us through the app, often with screenshots or spreadsheets attached for context.

Working With An IRS PTIN Tax Preparer

All remote support comes from a preparer holding an active IRS PTIN, which confirms registration with the federal preparer system. That credential, combined with documented conversations and stored workpapers inside the app, gives individuals and business clients a clearer record if questions arise later.

Over time, this pattern-secure uploads, guided preparation, remote consultations, and off-season questions all handled in one place-builds a consistent workflow. Clients grow familiar with the process, we recognize recurring patterns in their records, and trust in the digital system deepens alongside the ongoing relationship with a local preparer.

Tips For A Smooth Online Tax Filing Experience With Teaberry Tax

Practical habits inside the Teaberry Tax app remove much of the stress from remote filing and keep your record clean for later years.

Stay Ahead Of Deadlines

Upload wage statements, 1099s, and key receipts as they arrive instead of waiting to gather everything at once. Early uploads leave room for follow-up questions, corrections, and free consultation time before filing pressure builds.

Check Accuracy Before You Hit Approve

When we share a draft return, read names, Social Security numbers, bank details, and filing status slowly against your documents. For business owners, compare gross income, major expense totals, and inventory figures with internal records before confirming anything inside the app.

Keep Digital Copies Organized

Retain clear digital copies of every upload in your own storage as well. Use straightforward file names and year labels so returns, receipts, and notices stay easy to find if an agency questions an entry or you need prior-year numbers.

Use The Free Consultation Wisely

Before final approval, schedule a free consultation through the app when something looks unclear or a life event changes your tax picture. Questions about withholding, estimated payments, or how side income fits into the return make better sense when discussed in real time with documents on screen.

Extra Care For Small Business Filings

For small business tax filing online, maintain separate bank accounts, reconcile income totals regularly, and upload summary spreadsheets rather than loose figures. Store mileage logs, asset purchase records, and payroll reports in grouped folders so our review follows a clear trail from document to return. Throughout the process, rely on the app's encrypted messaging, storage, and e-signatures instead of ordinary email or unsecured file sharing; that habit strengthens data protection and supports cleaner compliance over multiple years.

Filing taxes can feel overwhelming, but the Teaberry Tax app simplifies the process for individuals and small businesses in Maryville and the greater Knoxville area. By securely uploading your documents, following a clear step-by-step workflow, and accessing year-round expert support from a registered IRS PTIN preparer, you gain confidence and control over your tax filing. The app's encrypted environment protects your sensitive information while enabling smooth communication and efficient preparation without the need for in-person visits. Take advantage of the free consultation to clarify your tax situation and ensure accuracy before submitting your return. Start your secure filing journey with Teaberry Tax and experience personal service combined with local expertise that helps you maximize your refund or minimize liability with ease.
